Artists of the future
Quality is really what music is about, but passion is even greater.
Artists have come through our doors for eight years passing now, and we’ve had some amazing musicians join us. WEATNU Records wishes to continue to serve the indie scene. Our label has been an open-door for many for a while now, but the ones who really benefit from our label are the passionate ones.
You may think why not the quality artists as the target, the ones who expect major promo? The quality artists are amazing in themselves, but passion is even better. Passion helps people to excel and that comes with also being quality – they want to be heard and are willing to take a journey with us, no matter what we’re lacking, in terms of not being able to produce vinyl or tape. Because we grow as things are developing. WEATNU never stops developing. We are a community-driven label and movement, with our sub-labels (Transmission Nova) and even a cinematic label IFMACA Productions.
Since summer of 2014, there has been a healthy attitude from quite a few folks who want to be part of us, but at times, a vetting process needs to be implemented.
Artists who want to join, sometimes back out, right before the signing process, which is to say the least non-productive, and it is mostly exhaustive.
The future of WEATNU Records
The passionate artist never does this, they want to be part of WEATNU as a whole.
The loyal artist wants to see where things go, even if they have no idea where that road leads.
Because of these past issues with people signing up and leaving suddenly, It would be better that people who love this label, should join, because in their hearts, they want be part of that family.
Some have been with us since 2014/2015, and that’s a great thing.
When we open the doors again to artists, one should consider and think about it, even though you have the ability to leave any time you wish, do you really want to join our label?
Each job requires the new employee to make some kind of agreement with the company, and since WEATNU is free to join, what do you have to lose? Yes, you do make an agreement with the label, when you sign, but by law you aren’t required to remain either, however, is it ethical that you sign and leave suddenly just because you wish it?We are the New Underground – Feb 20, 2023 – Almark
Artists who want to feel part of WEATNU Records actually need to be here, and when people who aren’t serious join, that leaves them out. They could of had a great future here, and build a career even in their own music genre. We’re a platform for indie artists, and always have been.
We have to become selective so that people who are ‘passionate’ can bring their music and soul to our label.
There have been too many times where someone who thought they wanted to join us, leaves suddenly.
This does not help the artist and it does not help the label.
Some indie artists just want to get their feet wet, they for awhile release music and give up.
In time, we hope to see not just quality but passion when new artists join, professional and non, and if they do join, it will be in private not just by email request. Passion is what we desire, because you love your music, and we love yours.
